CIC—
Fourteen
members and guests attended the February 15 meeting of the New London Community
Improvement Corporation in the basement of the United Methodist
Church with the Community Child Care staff catering lunch.
President
Dar Anderson opened the meeting, and the secretary’s report was approved. Cathy Carpenter, filling in for Treasurer
Theresa Smith, said there is $1,238.70 in checking, $2,787.55 in savings,
$6,069.22 in CDs and $378,726.42 in the Revolving Loan Fund.
Membership
plaques were handed out to the Village of Rochester,
Hospice of North Central Ohio, Firelands Electric, Sutton Bank, Westaff
Services and Engraving by Steve. All
individuals and organizations that join will receive a plaque at a meeting.
Kelly
Gearhart gave a Marketing Committee report.
The committee is made up of Kelly, Deb Gerard and Steve Von Behren. She said the committee recommends work in
three areas—overhauling the web site, coming up with an image for the village
and getting the word out about what the CIC can do.
Deb agreed
to work on the web site with Dave Bailey, and Steve will gather information
about the Revolving Loan Fund. More
volunteers are needed to work with committee members.
Cathy
Carpenter announced the National City drive-up has new hours. They are 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday,
8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Kelly said
The Record will be publishing information about NASCAR events and NCAA
basketball. She asked anyone with ideas
for the paper to contact her.
The March
15 meeting will be at the Legion, and Dar will give the State of the Village
address.
