Sixteen members and guests attended the July 19 meeting of the New London Community Improvement Corporation at the Recreation Park with Cravins providing lunch.

 

President Dar Anderson opened the meeting, and the secretary’s report was approved.  There is $1,531.06 in checking, $2,791 84 in savings, $6,100.29 in CDs and $394,838.08 in the Revolving Loan Fund.  The club has 50 members.

 

Kelly Gearhart said the NL Record will publish another Community Review highlighting area businesses, and it will include a locator map.  She handed out copies of last year’s edition, plus information about advertising costs.  Also, she distributed information about the Firelands Farmer Fair Issue, which is given away at many area county fairs.

 

Deb Gerard said the groundbreaking for the new Hospice of North Central Ohio In-patient Facility will be held at 3 p.m. August 4 and everyone is invited.  The Hospice’s Shelby Golf Outing is August 8.

 

Toni Whitney said Roger McKinney will present, “A Knight’s Story” at the United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday and all are welcome.  Please call the library if planning to attend.

 

It was announced that McDonald’s building will not be replaced until next year.

 

Jeff Harwood described the 1,800-square-foot space left by Murphy’s Pharmacy and said it is available for rent at 94 cents a foot.

 

Jim Ralston of Precision Trailers was to be the speaker but he was hurt yesterday and could not attend.
