Eighteen members and guests attended the September 20 meeting of the New London Community Improvement Corporation at Millstone Hills Golf Club with Angs providing lunch.
President Dar Anderson opened the meeting, and the secretarys report was approved. There is $1,496.06 in checking, $2,793.93 in savings, $6,113.18 in CDs and $401,192.82 in the Revolving Loan Fund. The club has 50 members.
Dar said both Our Lady of Lourdes and the United Methodist churches asked to buy portions of the old school property, which the CIC now controls. The Executive Committee decided to turn down their requests because the CICs mission is to promote business and industry and provide jobs for the community, and although the churches improve the quality of life in the village, their proposals do not meet the organizations criteria.
Bill Alford suggested we need some kind of master plan for the acreage, and Pat Cassidy will research whether some of the Revolving Loan Fund money can be used to pay for a study.
John Noss said the United Fund meeting will be held Sept. 28 at Firelands Electric.
